About Us
History
Our story starts way back in 2006
The Traditional Puppet Art Museum was established to preserve the memory of traditional arts in the Sri Lankan people and also to take the art to the international community. Puppets shows, research work, trainning sessions, seminars and lectures are conducted at the Museum to this end.
Several projects organized each year to popularize the puppet art in Sri Lanka and abroad with the collaboration of Ministries for Culture, Education and Tourism.
The founder and Present Chairman of the Museum, Sarath Abeygunawardena is directing the institute towards these goals with the help of well experienced traditional Puppet Artists.
